Start with whichever stage matches how your child already engages with the world: a curious four-year-old who asks “why” constantly can start hands-on activities early, while a methodical eight-year-old might be ready to jump straight into simple experiments with variables and predictions.

What This Pathway Assumes (and What It Doesn’t)

Each stage links real activities and experiments rather than just naming a science topic. We assume no prior science background is required — the whole point of a hands-on approach is that curiosity, not memorized facts, drives the learning. This pathway supplements what your child sees in school or from other sources; it isn’t a substitute for a full science curriculum.

Signs It’s Time to Move to the Next Stage

Watch for a child who starts predicting outcomes before you tell them, asks “what would happen if” on their own, and wants to change one thing about an activity to see what’s different.
