This policy explains what information HappyLearningKids.com (“we,” “us”) collects, why, and how it’s handled. We aim to collect as little as possible. If you have questions this page doesn’t answer, contact us via our Contact page.
Information you give us directly
- Contact form. If you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message so we can reply to you. We keep these messages only as long as needed to respond and to track corrections or safety reports, per our Corrections Policy.
- Optional account registration. If you create an account, we collect a username, email address, and password (stored as an irreversible hash, not in plain text). An account is not required to use any guide, activity, printable, or tool on the site.
- Interactive tools. Tools like the Parent Problem Solver, Routine Builder, and Chore Chart Maker may ask for a child’s first name or age to personalize the result shown or printed to you. That information is used to generate your result and is not required to be saved to use the tool; where a saved/account version of a tool stores it, it is tied to your parent account, never sold, and deletable on request.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting and security infrastructure automatically logs basic technical data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) for security and performance purposes — for example, to prevent spam and abuse. We do not currently run third-party analytics or advertising trackers. If we add privacy-conscious analytics in the future (for example, to understand which guides are most useful), we will update this policy first and configure it to minimize personal data collection, such as IP anonymization, wherever the tool allows it.
Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies for site functionality, such as keeping you logged in if you create an account and caching pages for faster load times. We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising tracking.
Children’s privacy
This Site is intended for use by parents, guardians, and educators, not directly by children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. See our Child Safety Policy for more detail on how we handle any information about a child that a tool on this site asks for.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We share information only with the service providers that operate the Site on our behalf (for example, our hosting provider and the software that runs our contact form and accounts), and only to the extent needed for them to provide that service, or where required by law.
Security
The Site is served over HTTPS, passwords are stored as salted hashes rather than plain text, and access to the site’s administration is restricted to our team. No online system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable, industry-standard steps to protect the information we hold.
Your choices
You can use almost everything on this Site without providing any personal information at all. If you’ve created an account or contacted us, you can ask us to access, correct, or delete your information at any time via our Contact page.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update the “Last updated” date above whenever this policy changes, and post a summary of material changes on this page.
