Times tables reward short, repeated practice far more than long study sessions. This page gives a quick quiz format plus a strategy for the facts that trip kids up most.

Quick Quiz (Pick One Table a Day)
Write out one times table (e.g. the 7s: 7×1 through 7×12) in mixed order rather than in sequence, and time how long it takes to answer all 12. Repeat the same table the next day before moving to a new one.
The Tricky Facts
Most kids get stuck on the same handful: 6×7, 6×8, 7×8, 8×9. Isolate just these 4–6 facts and drill them separately for a few days rather than re-drilling the whole table.
What They’re Learning
Multiplication fluency isn’t about memorizing 144 isolated facts — it’s about pattern recognition (skip counting, doubling known facts) that generalizes. Isolating the hard facts avoids wasting practice time on facts already mastered.
Parent Tip
Skip counting out loud (5, 10, 15, 20…) before drilling a table cold often unlocks the pattern faster than flashcards alone.
